Looking for suggestions on pricing two suspensions for sale.

Hi all

I just recently had a mechanic do some work on the maxima and also had him put in a stock suspension for my preggo wifey.

So now I have the coilovers that were on it, plus the suspension that was on the car when I bought it. I need to recover whatever I can from the repair costs... so I'm selling both sets.

I have no idea what would be a good price for each set. I want the sale to be a good deal, but for me and buyer. So what would you suggest for each set?

I welcome your suggestions

Thanks ahead!

Set 1: Tokico Illuminas with Tien H-Tech springs.

They were on the car when I bought it, and myself I put about 5k on them before I got the coilovers. I'm not very part saavy, so don't know condition. When they were on, it sat very nicely... but front was pretty rough if you hit a sunk in manhole.. but rear like a cadillac. No leaks that I saw.

Set 2: KSport (Kontrol Pro?) Coilovers

I put these on brand new at the very end of 2007, and put about 5k on them until I gave my wife the car around September 2009. I don't recall how many miles was on the car, and I think she's put about 20k on it. So I am estimating around 25k total on them. Some of the rubber (boots?) have cracked/split. But I don't see any leaks. I don't know how to determine the condition. But honestly, the ride was damn near identical to when first put them on... it was never the smoothest ride.. being so low

The k sports are around 800 new for our cars but then again thats a good amount of miles you've put on them so id put a sale price of a little over half the price of new which would be like 450-500 (Those are the old versions also, the new k sports are black). The tokiko with h tech springs would obviously be cheaper since its a cheaper setup and you have no idea how long they were on the car before you bought it so id say about 300-350 for those.

Thanks for the suggestions Gil'

I thought the tokico/tiens were more expensive... maybe less demand than coilovers though.

Coilovers are usually a few hundred more than a spring/strut setup.

I'm looking for illuminas, but I won't waste your time b/c I won't have the money freed up for a long time. Too many other things I have to get paid off.

Good luck with sale!

$600 is too much, for that price most people would rather spend $200 extra and just buy a BRAND NEW/NEWEST MODEL set of k sports instead of a set thats been used for almost 30k miles and is the older model.

These are the current model

Thanks guys for your input. I was thinking about 375-400 for the coilovers and maybe 250 for the tokico/tiens. So I guess based off your input, that is a fair-good deal?

Thanks again!

That sounds perfect, if there is any problem with the suspension setups after you sell them the new owner can't complain because he/she purchased at a great price
