Dealership screwed up my car ... even more. :(

I just got back from the dealership (Ken Pollick Nissan in Wilkes-Barre, PA) I took my 00 GLE to repair some problems. I forget what the codes were, but they pointed to problems with the ignition coils and the MAF. First, they kept it for 4 days while ordering replacements parts. Then they called me again to tell me they ordered the wrong parts and need it for 4 more days. The next day, they called me again to tell me to come get it, and they gave up on it. They said it was probably caused by the aftermarket headlights on it (idk the reasoning behind that concitering its an engine problem).

I got there today, and they had to go look for the keys because they lost them. Then, I went out to the lot to get it. They didn't tell me there was anything else wrong with it. When I turned the ignition on, it sounded really different. It was really quiet and was idling perfectly (it was previously stalling in idle). Then I put it in Drive, and the whole car started shaking like crazy and the engine starting pinging. When I got out on the road, it would barely accelerate. I was in 2nd and nearly 3rd gear and only going 20mph. It was revving like crazy and barely moving.

Any advice? I'm taking it to another dealership that is run by a family friend who specializes in foreign cars, but I'd really like to know why this is happening.

EDIT:

one code was P0171
I'm still looking for the other.

Wow. A dealership can't even replace a maf? What a bunch of geniuses.

And they had to order parts LMAO. If they have to order coils and mafs, then they fix ZERO cars per day hahahaha

I went out to check it, and guess what? They replaced 5 of the ignition coils, but ...

TWO OF THEM WERE DISCONNECTED. I plugged them back in and it's working flawlessly now. The idling issue is completely gone and it runs really quietly.

Be careful who you trust working on your cars...

I sure hope they didn't charge you for anything. My god, that is awful workmanship.

They didn't charge anything. So out of their stupidity I think I got new ignition coils free

True. I've heard some Maxima owners have had luck by just cleaning it out with soap and water. I think I'll give that a try later today.
