SE and GLE Difference

I am thinking about buying a pre-owned Max GLE or SE. What are the differences inside and out and which do you recommend. Thanks

SE......

Definitly the SE. Sports Edition is the only wy to go w/ a Max. Depends on the year but, the 4th gen. SE has the 5 star rims which are. tight

GLE is supposed to be the luxury version and the SE is supposed to be the sporty version. the differences may vary depending on the different years of maximas though but some of the universal differences are:

GLE comes with leather and all the nice stuff but most (if not all) of those options are available for the SE

SE has sportier looking wheels

SE has body colored door handles whereas the GLE has chrome door handles. SE looks much better because of this

on the 97-99 maximas the SEs have body colored grills and the GLE is chrome (i could be wrong about this because im not sure if its always true)

SE comes with a spoiler and the GLE does not.

i recommend the SE. it just looks better plus you can very easily get the "luxury" that the GLE has depending on the options you get.

oh yeah:

2000 and 2001 SEs have tinted tail lights and the GLEs have bright red tail lights. again, the SE wins in the looks department.

Don't forget, the SE has titanium gauges and GLE does not. The titanium gauges look very sporty. The SE also comes standard with the manual trans. while the GLE comes with an auto trans.

I have a GLE and let me say this...

You guys have to remember that the SE does NOT come standard with the 17" rim/tire package

IMHO The SE looks better with the optional 17" rims. I LOVE how the taillights look with ALL colors. The Titanium gauges look high-tech and you can get a stick shift with all the options, leather ect..

My GLE looks like a bubble with the smallish 16" rims and the red tails. I thinkn it looks GREAT, but I like the sportier look of the SE with the 17" rim option. I'm looking to buy some cheap SE AE rims on Ebay for less than $400 and buy its body kit.

SE AE looks the best though Especially in White and Grey

ok...let's go over this ONE more time!!

it's NOT the stiffer springs or harder shocks...it's just the bushings and slightly larger anti-roll bars...and the rims(if you opt for the 17s)

have no idea...the tint shop i went to didn't do the tint rating by the percentage rate...instead they just had light, medium, dark, and limo...
mine's just medium in the front and dark in the rear.

and the GLEs without the fogs you say? you sure? it's probably GXEs with convienence and comfort packages.

Rebadged GXE's

Yeah the leather and sunroof convinced me also, so did the exhaust tips and automatic temp control. I didn't check to see if it had Bose though. Cool I never new GXE's had sunroof's
