Where to run wires to an amp

So I have basically got my stereo setup, I need to run wires from the battery and HU to the amp obviously.

Is there any threads specifically for the 5th Gen or a guide on where to best run the wires etc ?

drill your own hole and run it behind the kick plates. Simple enough

I drilled a hole in my firewall, ran the cable behind the steering column (along with the RCA/remote cables) and into the plastic lining in front of the doors (i dont know what thats called) and into my trunk by pulling the back seat forward and pushing it under the seat all the way so its out of the way. It was a pretty annoying task haha.

Like I said.... Drill 6 holes and try them all. Then pick your favorite hole

Run them through the driver fender and into the grommet that encloses the wiring harness below the cluster. No holes drilled and it looks clean. You'll have to partially remove the fender liner to access it.

Edit: Found the org member who gave me the idea. I'm too lazy to write it up myself, so I've quoted them. No pics, but it is very obvious. Also, I didn't need to remove the wheel, but it makes it easier if you are lowered at all.

but anyway, i will try to explain it as best as i can w/o pic's but it is rather hard to do.

first, take off your front drivers side wheel.

then take off the black lining behind the wheel.. there are clips holding it on, that if you try to turn them, they will turn forever... you need to use a flathead screew driver and pop them out carefuly. then pry the black plastic lining back towards the car. (you will also need to take off the body colored "mud flap" that is held on by 2 screews in front, and one underneath it.)

now you will see two things, one huge wire going into a 4-5 inch rubber grommet, and the hood release latch. we need to make a cross cut in the rubber gromet that is big enough to fit your power wire through. make sure to use a sharp knife/blade, and also not to hit the wires behind the gromet when cutting.

now pop the hood. look for a hole that is approx. 2 inches wide, that is close to the driver side strut tower. place your power wire through the hole and it should come out through the fender. and run the wire through the rubber grommet that we just made a splice in.

now go under the dash, and remove some of the carpet and padding on the driver side. look up, and you will see your power wire. just feed it though, and you are done!

this took me like a total of 30mins to do.

hope this helps!

-Chris
