Had the same problem on my 01 SE. You have two options when it comes to the rad support. You can either disconnect all the wiring, hoses, cross member and whatever else to unbolt the old support and just throw on a new one, or have the current one chopped and have a non-rusted piece welded back on. I'd personally prefer to do the unbolting and go thru all that work cause then you wont be relying on the body shop's welding abilities.

Please verify the trouble code. Is it a P0403? I don't see how that's possible since 2001+ Maxima's don't have EGR's. Do you know if the ECM was replaced on it?

I'm not really understanding the question. The cross member has to be bolted to the vehicle otherwise it won't be doing what it's meant to do. And there is a motor mount on the front of the cross member facing the firewall. I can't remember if there are two mounts or just one on the cross member.

Here's a pic of how bad my situation was:

2 mounts just pickup the lower support. And replace it try to go oe because its stronger it is going to take a few hours to get it off there and drilling out spot welds is required

As for the P0403 code, go get the codes checked. I don't think there is a P0403 code. I wonder if it is code P0430, which is "3 Way Catalyst system efficiency below threshold".

No problem The P0430 code is pretty popular on these cars. Type in P0430 in the search box at the top of the page.
