I just bought some clear tail lights for my 2000 Maxima GXE and I have a question about the bulbs. I haven't found any place where I live that sells red bulbs for the brake light. Does anyone have the 2000-2003 body style that has added the clear tail lights? I also need to know if the brake light and the tail light work off of the same bulb? I might end up just sending them back and ordering a different kind, maybe the one's that are chrome with the round red lens. I also ordered the factory spoiler with the brake light. If anyone can help on where I can find a brake light wire to tie into please let me know.

You could buy my 02-03 tail lights and then not have to worry about doing anything fancy with it...

I have a pair of red 7443 bulbs I can sell you. I bought a pair of the clear ones off eBay and it came with the bulbs but I bought extra bulbs in case. Send me a PM if you need a pair.

Wait, didn't your 00 come with the coveted tinted/grey tails...

 

The grey ones come with the 02-03 Maxima. He probably had the all red tails.

 

I'm a bit new to the Maxima game, so forgive me, but I didn't think the 02-03 Maxima's were available with the grey tail lights at all. I thought the tinted one's came on the 00-01 SE's, and some GXE's (option maybe?); and 00-01 GLE's, and most GXE's came with all red; and the 02-03 Maxima came with the chrome tail lights regardless of trim.

When I had my 00 Max, it had the tinted tails

 

Although it might've been from the guy I bought it from. He also had some tein springs he threw in with it
