Newbie here. Please help!!! Shifter Questions...

Okay, what's up everyone. I had a question for a friend that has a 2001 Maxima SE. He was wondering if there were any aftermarket shifters out there that would give him good short shifting and lose that factory shifter that feels like mush. I already did a search for this topic and found some helpful information. So far as of shifters I found that there is the Stillen ($200+), Pacesetter ($150+), Courtesy Nissan ($95), and SMC ($150). Is there any other brands that are good? I was wondering what is the most popular one that everyone is using and what order from best to worst these shifters are ranked. I was also wondering if anyone out there could describe the changes you felt after putting this shifter on. Both positive and negative. It would also be helpful if anyone has some websites of where you can purchase theses shifter and websites on how to install the shifter. And how hard the installation was. Thanks for your help!!!
