Lower Engine Knock when engine hot at start up.

Lower Engine Knock when engine hot at start up.
This just started since the daily temps have been >90 degrees.
If I drive the car (2000 I30 with 88K miles) for at least 20 mins, then turn it off, and then restart it after the car sits for ~15 minutes, there is an odd lower engine knock for the first 3-4 sec at start up.
After that, no odd sounds when driving or at idle. Sound goes away on its own in 3-4 sec or if I rev the engine (still in park).
Anyone ever notice this or have an idea?
