Possible issues with TPS or Accelator Pedal Sensor

Its been a long time since posting...but I have a problem.. I was driving on the highway yesterday (55mph) when my Max suddenly lost power. I pressed on the accelerator a couple of times and no response. I pulled over the side of the road and watch the car go to idle, but never shutting down. I did notice the brake light and I believe the OIL light flash when this happened, Once I pulled over I stepped on the gas pedal all the way only for the engine to rev up to 3k and back down to idle. I managed to make it to a parking lot using this small burst of power and let the car sit for an hour. After that, I drove it around parking lot and did not experience the symptoms. The next day my car still showed no symptoms. This morning however, the car had a small hesitation but was able to make the 3 miles to work. I'm getting no codes and I have a feeling it may be the accelerator sensor, since its an intermittent problem and and car idles but does not die. Any ideas would be very helpful.... THANKS in advance..

Required information missing from the post, the year of the maxima.

Clean the MAF, use the spray cleaner at any parts store. Check the FSM for the diagnostic procedures to rule out those sensors mentioned.

I just had my throttle position sensor go on my 2003 a month ago. It was not intermittent however. When it failed all the lights on the dash came on TCS, SES, etc. and it went permanently into limp mode. It wouldn't rev past 2500rpm. I definitely threw a code as well.

If it is the sensor the dealer will want crazy money because they don't sell just the sensor. They sell the entire pedal/sensor for $300CDN. Find yourself a wrecker. It's a simple fix. Two bolts to remove the pedal and then two screws for the sensor. Good luck.
