I can email you scans of the Crutchfield instructions for stereo and speaker installation for the 5th gen Maxima. PM me your email address if you want them.

I've got those thanks. I'm trying to pull out the vent above
the stereo now. Any tips besides the usual pull up and pull
out?

Try wedging a butterknife between the bottom of the vent and the upper part of the stereo. Or try wedging the butterknife at the sides and top of the vent.

The bottom part is easy it's just that top. I wish I knew where
the clips were.

Got it out! Now, any ideas on getting these screws out
holding the stereo to the bracket. Not the ones that
hold it to the car but just the bracket. I think they were
torqued or screwed in my Superman.

Be careful about those screws, they strip easily. Once you strip them, you got problems.
