Ouch...

I was furious when someone dinged my door. I don't feel so bad anymore. Good luck with the insurance.

Pictures work fine now. They're pretty unfortunate looking pics. I'm so sorry, that must feel awful...it looks like the damage is fairly superficial though.

Getting money out of State Farm will be interesting. If the accident is your fault and the other driver files a claim against you...then you're basically screwed. The best way to go about it is to obtain a generous estimate from your favorite bodyshop. Then you approach the insurance agent/adjuster you're working with and ask them to cut you a check for that amount, and if he declines, offer to accept a little less and that you'll just get the work done yourself.

If the other driver does not file a claim against you, then all you've got to worry about is you and your insurance. Check with your agent how this works with respect to the police report, but in some cases, your premium may not go up if you choose not to file a claim with your own insurance even if they know about the accident. (Basically, you don't cost them any money and your premium stays the same...however, if they suck, then they'll say that they got a police report blah blah, you're a greater risk, and then get jammed...in this case get all the $$$ you can).

First, do not let the insurance people know that you did things like the one in your sig pic.

dude, next thing you gotta do is get with a different insurance provider, I have heard the most horrific stories about state farm!!! I'm with AIG but I'd be with Progressive if they weren't so expensive for drivers under 25 yrs old.

I really don't like this recent mod you did to your front end.

Glad you're okay though.

Peace

actually they are the cheapest for me ...

I tried geico, farm bereau, state farm, and a few others. Progressive was the cheapest by almost $300. The next closest was geico at over a grand for 6 months. Progressive is around $700.

why

Damn man, that sux. I almost got smashed the third day I had my 2K2. Some dumbass kid in a 2nd-gen Eclipse came skidding right through a stop sign into the street I was on. He came about 3 feet from t-boning a Corolla, and I stopped about 6 feet from his passenger side. Then without so much as an apologetic gesture, he backed up and drove away. I wasn't shaken, but my friend riding with me was and the guy in the Corolla was ****ting his pants three times over.

Good luck with your insurance. I'm still waiting for a call from my adjuster with my wreck. They're backed up over here. Too many retards and snow storms.

I've never had any problem with State Farm. In 89 (just turned 16), I wrecked the front end of my 86 Accord ($1200 in damage) and totaled the Subaru Justy in front of me. My car was fixed in 2 weeks and my insurance didn't go up. In 90, my 86 Accord was broken into. They replaced everything that was stolen including a CD player that wasn't mounted to the body of the car, replaced the window the next day, and gave me $500 for a small dent and scratch on the A-pillar. In 98, wife's 94 Altima got totaled by an uninsured drunk driver. We got the check a week later. In 99, my wife's replacement 97 Altima had had the front and rear windows broken out by vandels. $1200 in damage. The windows were replaced the next morning. I've never paid outragous amounts for insurance either and I live in Kansas City which is in the top 30 worst cities to live in when it comes to theft. I'm 27 and my wife is 26. We own a 96 Max and a 98 Legacy GT wagon plus our house is insured with State Farm. We pay ~$1000 a year for BOTH cars with full coverage, $250 deducts, unisured motorist (came in damn handy), rental car, and extra comprehensive. They've never screwed me over in price or claims. They've never screwed my parents over either. Maybe the reason they don't hassle me is because our driving records have been clean for years.

Let me just take this opportunity to say that Liberty Mutual sucks goat nads... They just hiked prices.. (for everyone I heard)..
Now I pay $4,000 for 2 cars (1 without any collision coverage) in Newark, NJ. All drivers in household have clean records...

Looking to change, any suggestions? (allstate quoted me $3,200+ /year which is roughly about what I used to pay for liberty mutual)
