Ever since i bought my 03 Max i never could get the compass to come on in the rear view mirror. The green power light is on but no compass. Is there a way to fix this or to find out if i have a faulty mirror?

Try pressing and holding the compass button down for 10 seconds and then drive in 3 circles at less than 5mph.

Are you sure you HAVE a compass?

The green light is for the auto-dim feature, not the compass, but it does tell you that the mirror has power to it.

I don't know that all 5.5's got the compas in the mirror.

Yeah it has the compass. I read the manual front to back when i first got car and saw this feature. I then tried to use and could not get it to show. I will try calibrating today.

have you turned the compass on? There is a button that says "COMP". Can only be turned on or off with the key in the "ON" position

That's what i'm figuring. I tried everything mentioned in the thread. Just gonna go to junkyard to get one. Guy said he had one from an i35 for $30. Anyone know if an 04 mirror with homelink/temp/compas would work in an 03?
