Do I have to take the bumper off or can I get the dot 10 mms out if I take the bottom cover off?

What car? 5th Gen I assume? As in 2000-2003 model year? There are only 2 bolts on top of the headlight attached to the core support that hold the headlight on. Remove those and give it a good pull and it will pop out of a third ball-type holder. That's it.

Unless his 2002-2003 was equipped with the anti-theft headlight attachment in which case it would be a nightmare to remove.

Take the bumper cover off. It makes the bracket visible. Taking the bumper off is not difficult nor time consuming.

Anyway you have to go under and there are 2 or 3 14 mm bolts holding the headlight on from underneath on the datadots brackets. Take your time and you'll find them. They are pretty big.

Bro, you crazy for that...LOLOL

Seriously....

I have an 02 and I think I have those antitheft brackets on them because I tried to remove the bolts on top to get the headlight out but there was this black bracket that was holding the light in and I could not get it out. Seems like it was attached at the bottom of the frame of the light or something. I just gave up. Wasnt that serious anyway....

Can we just post the procedure on here so everyone can know?

Pretty sure you just have to remove the bumper cover...

It's 2012...no one is going to steal the non-projector HID lights out of our 2002-2003 Maximas...

Once the bumper cover is removed, it's fairly obvious if the bracket is there, and which bolts have to be removed.
