Some will recommend a stabilizer like Lucas Oil Stabilizer and others will suggest a High Mileage oil to try and stop the burn. These companies have big marketing budgets and make lots of claims but the best way to find out in your particular vehicle's case is to try it and run for 3-5k and see if there is any improvement. If there isn't its not working and isn't worth the money. I have used it in an old pick up that burns oil like gas and I see a slight difference but that's just me and my particular vehicle.

Imho...snake oil! Just use a good quality oil and filter and skip the snake oil.

Well it's obvious you have an oil consumption issue, welcome to the club. You can do one of few things. Check your oil weekly topping it up with a thicker like like a 15W 40 not during the winter season, the 10W 30 would be better then.

You can use the stabilizer but it will only help you so much because you'll still get the oil consumption, just not as bad as when you didn't have it. I use 10W 30 and truck oil during the oil changes and I find that it's the most effective way for "me" to maintain the oil level. Other than that man there's not much you can do but top it up as it consumes. That's just the VQ's down fault
