2003 maxima wanting a tail light swap

hey guys i tried searching on info on how to do this and what i need but i couldnt find any so please dont flame me

i bought the car with some clear tails and i dont like them they have a crack in it and they dont fit well like oem so i want to buy some tail lights not the chrome ones tho cause those are ugly and i rather just stick to my cracked ones lol but the 00-01 se tails or the red gle ones are the ones im after. what do i need? besides just the tail light? does my light bulb harness thing fit right into it? do i need to do any kind of wiring or buy and different plugs?

anyone who has done this if you can help me out youd be a great help.

Try buying tails with harnesses already on there. I'm selling the reds, check in the classifieds section. I posted them up yesterday. I went with the SE tails. Mine come with the harnesses. Its pretty much plug and play.

I think all you need is the 00-01 Wiring Harness, and the taillights search ebay for them or 1AAuto.com for em.....or in the classifieds on here.....

As already posted, you will need the wiring harnesses and bulbs from the 00-01 tails as well. Those will plug into your car just fine.

For the record, I changed the tail lights on my 02 with Red tail lights from a 2000 GLE, and I used the original 02 harness and bulbs with no problem at all. Completely plug and play.

The bottom bulb base (I believe) doesn't fit in there 'perfectly as OEM' but it will fit in there.

or you can jump on the bandwagon and get some LED tail lights http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003/654475-what-do-you-think-these-led-tails-our-maximas.html

Agreed. It would be nice if they were bright but they're comparable to stock bulbs I would say imho.

definitely i put a led bulb into the tails i have right now and its only a lil brighter only reason i bought the led was cause im not running the car much and was able to wait for cheap bulbs from yours truly EBAY PERFORMANCE lol rather then spending double at pepboys

just wanted to show you guys my new tails i installed it around 2 weeks ago it was a easy process and i reused the used butyl to reseal it twice cause the new tails also had butyl on it. it had a lil gap and my dad was bugging my to seal it also but i dont think it was a issue at all but i listened so i put some ducktape and plastidiped it to weather proof the little crack that was there
