Spark plug gap

I'm getting replacement spark plugs for my car at Advance Auto. The recommended spark plug is this: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...erm=spark+plug

The manual says to use a spark plug with a gap of .043 but this one is .044. Is this ok? It IS a PLFR5A-11 which is what the manual recommends, though I'm not sure what it means. I'm also going to replace ignition coil #4 with this one: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...=ignition+coil

Is this coil legit? I see prices ranging up to $100 on Advance so should I get a more expensive one?

I'm doing all this for a P0304 SES that I was getting. Though the light is gone, I still occasionally get some hesitation so I want to take care of it.

plugs are what you want but that coil is crap. Only get an OEM coil which if you can get for $100 you got a good deal lol. I dont know what that code is so hopefully a 5th gen owner can help ya

OEM coils only, and always check your spark plug gap before installing.

The manual says a gap of .043 but the Advance recommended one has a gap of .044. Will this be an issue?

Maybe but you can always adjust them to 0.43 with proper feeler gauges. I do this for every set I get.

What is the OEM spark plug #? I ended up going to the dealership and they gave me part #22401-5M015 but courtesy parts part # is 22401-A33B005.

I want to make sure I got the right part. The attached jpg shows what the dealership gave me.

Oof...you bought OEM? How much did those cost you?

Sometimes, the part numbers are slightly different from Courtesy versus dealer (digits after the hyphen). Since the first five digits are the same, you should be good to go.

Came to about $14/per. I got the OEM mainly because I couldn't find one on the market with .043 gap (recommended in the manual). Advance was selling for about $8 each so the price difference wasn't too drastic. I'm having a shop install them.

Another follow-up. I had to put just a touch of WD-40 in the spark park cylinders yesterday because I got a ratched bit that got stuck in it. Will this do any damage? I probably put a minor scratch or two on the inside of the cylinder. Will any of these two cause any potential problems?

Your price markup was 75%!!! Let me know when you need parts next time..I'll get you OEM or equivalent for much cheaper! You could have had NGK plats which is same as stock for $9 or $10 a piece saving you money and have OEM equivalent.

As I said in an earlier post you could have adjusted the spark plug gap.

To your questions...no the WD40 won't hurt anything in that location.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the future. I was a bit under the gun right now as I'm taking a long trip this coming weekend and needed to do it before then. Does the price you mentioned include shipping?

I was joking about me personally getting you parts...if you were under the gun that's cool, just keep it in mind for the future.

Autozone has NGK Platinum's which are OEM equivalent (same exact plugs) for $9 to $10 a piece. They usually carry them in stock so no shipping or waiting...

That bit of gap won't matter. Throw in NGK 1 step colder iridiums and off you go!

For about 60 bucks O_O

Difference with iridiums is they have are spec'd to last about as long as copper and definitely not as long as platinums so you really don't get the bang for your buck.

Why 1 step colder? I don't see the OP running any forced induction or nitrous.

The cylinder that the spark plug and coil go into. All should be well though, I had them changed yesterday and so far so good.
