Muffler.

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a nice sounding muffler for my car! I'm going to use the stock exhaust just cut the stock muffler off. So does the exhaust have to be a certain size and any opinions of what sounds nice?

Reverse the situation: get some nice piping/resonator and use the stock muffler.

Using a 2.5" Bpipe and Hi flow cat in conjunction w/the OEM rear muffler give an awesome V8 like growl.....and is still quiet with do droning....kinda has a Mustang V8 sound!!!!

How would I go about getting 2.5 inch piping bent in like stock exhaust? How much would it cost? And also I'm picking up a test pipe without a res for $10 bucks off a local. Lastly one of the reasons why I want to put a muffler on is because my baffles in my muffler make a weird noise!

Go to a local muffler shop they could do it, I got 3" piping and it was $175
Iv had two setups 1. I had stock everything and chopped the muffler off and ran a pipe out. 2. 3" piping without a res to a flowmaster 40 series.

you can buy a cheap aftermarket mandrel bent catback exhaust from e-bay and cut off the muffler and weld on your stock one

mandrel exhaust systems? YOu already said you were getting this for the b-pipe and now you are asking how you can do it? Are you just a troll because I am beginning to think so. You have like 5 threads on the same thing and contradict yourself in every single one

Wanna go way cheap? But good sounding just buy the*typical magnaflow or a flowmaster. Have someone weld it on. Flowmaster will be louder but Magnaflow actually flows better. I got single 2.5" inlet duel 3" round tips out looks shiny but stockish no huge watermelon launcher muffler and sounds way good. Or buy the Megan Axel back that would be my next choice

No I'll try to explain it too you....the Cattman exhaust came in 3 sections, the stock came in 2 sections! The Cattman Bpipe consist of the resonator section, the (2) 90 degree bends section (that travels in front of the fuel tank) to the flange in front of the rear axle beam,.....The Oem Bpipe is the section from the rear of the cat to the flange just fwd of the rear axle beam.....GOT IT?

Are you saying the muffler's too big? What kind of muffler is it and what size is it? I've fitted 5" x 11" x 22" under two Maxima(s) and that's a big freaking muffler (Magnaflow 12576).....You may need to secure your entire system with Kartboy Poly hangars (they won't bugde)!

To me, it sounds great. Nice and quiet while normally cruising, (just a little louder and lower tone than stock), and a little growl when getting on it. If you want noise, it's not for you. I don't like noise.
It's 2.5" which is the same as my SRS piping and resonator.

Rods03Max619 had it bang on!

Oh, I also have a Cattman y-pipe.

i might have to go with this route as well, i'm not a big fan of noise either but i do want performance.. so basically get a 2.5" mandrel bent catback and weld on my stock muffler correct?

Pretty much. The difference being that the G35 sedan muff is 2.5" inlet and stock is 2 1/4". Not that big of a deal IMO.

How do you find it different? I have headers, and with the 2.5" Cattman Bpipe, a WSP Hi flow cat and the Maxima OEM rear muffler there was no drone nor annoying noise....Thee was gurgling during accelerating/deceleration.....quiet and responsive in town and on the highway.....Maybe you had some other issues going on....Mine was awesome!
