piaa fogs

Do the piaa fogs on the well known "shiftice" website directly replace the stock fog bulbs or does an hid conversion need to take place?

The PIAA bulbs are a direct swap.

You can get actual HIDs for the fog lights cheap from DDM tuning. Slight modification is required but it's really no big deal. Did mine in less than an hour.

yes but without projectors or the proper housing it is technically illegal, and potentially blinds oncoming traffic

keep it simple with direct replacements. PIAA is great.

The DDM Tuning Slim Ballast kit is actually cheaper than buying two PIAA bulbs. Just get H3 bulbs, 35 watt ballasts, 6000k color. You'll be good to go.
I think I just had to bend the shield inside the fog light slightly because the bulb was a little long. I also had to drill a hole in the plastic caps on the back for the ballast wires and filled with high temp silicone.

i drive around with 8000k in my fogs, as long as you aim it right there won't be any problems

maybe short term, but not long term. there's always chances of that crap not working for long especially when you get cheaper hid set ups.

DDM Has a lifetime warranty when you buy the kit. Not that I've had to test it yet. I've had mine in for 8 months now with no problems. Even if I had to replace a ballast or bulb it's still cheaper than PIAA, and looks better IMHO.

HID's are the way to go but I also been thinkin of SMD LED bulbs. anybody on here have a set of those installed. Their all over ebay and im sure some these cheap audio install places have em local. Im just unsure if they will really shine farther than HID's. But yeah look em up on youtube or something

There are no LEDs that will even come close to a fraction of what HID (or halogen for that matter) puts out.
