Finally had time to take apart the blower fan motor, sounded like a freight train, the last couple of months, but didn't have time to check it out. Thought it was due for a new fan motor, anyhow thanks to all here, I got it off, and found a small piece of dried leaf. lol Cleaned out the fan itself as well, and all around it, put it back together and so far so good.

Now, it's about time to switch out the transmission fluid, I have mobil1 in there at the moment, was thinking of putting Amsoil in there now, will the 2 place nicely together or am I asking for trouble?

I hope it's not Mobil 1 synthetic. It eats your synchros because it has too much sulphur

Amsoil
I wouldn't mix the two but they are compatable if you would want to. If you are looking to replace the fluid to get the best results I would have the system flushed and replaced with new Amsoil. I am a dealer and can get you the product if you need. Let me know if you need help.
thanks

I've been running Mobil 1 synthetic for almost 200,000 miles. No issues with it... I even have an ATF analysis report from a previous ATF flush. The report did not indicate any abnormal wear.

Where do you get your information from on Mobil 1 synthetic eating your synchros?

Why would you use anything but Matic-D? Its not like AMS or Mobil 1 are that much cheaper. Especially in an old transmission to change fluid like that is just crazy. There is no intelligent reason to switch

I don't know man..some things you post are like,

Synthetic ATF lasts MUCH MUCH longer than Matic-D. I have only changed out my synthetic ATF TWO TIMES in the last 200,000 miles and it is still fresh.

In regards to the OP using it, if he already has synthetic Mobil 1 then he should continue with synthetic. No harm in switching over to synthetic at this point and it will only lengthen his ATF changes going forward saving money in the long run.

You guys use whatever fluid you want, it is your car. Never in a million years would I swap out all of my fluid for another brand and expect good results.
