'Buzzing' sound at idle, shift into gear and noise goes away.

5.5 auto. Here's a little background, today I changed my battery and when tightening up the negative terminal, I accidentally touched the already installed positive terminal. (I had an extension on my deep socket for some stupid reason) I started it up, drove it home, no problems or strange noises at all. After piddling around with hard wiring my radar detector this evening I start the car up and have a couple of surprises. Check engine light and a 'buzz' noise at idle. The sound is almost like a fan very lightly hitting a fan shroud while fan is in rotation. Anyways, it seems to only do this under load because when I put it in drive the noise disappears. I tried pulling the codes w/o scanner...had an epileptic seizure, but believe I may have gotten a 1001 and 1008(will verify with scanner tomorrow). Can't find much about either of these codes on here so im guessing I have an uncommon problem. Feedback?

P1001 - Key On/Engine Running Not Able To Complete - Basically the KOER Self-Test started and then failed.
P1008 - Evap Canister Purge?? Not 100% on this one.

Sounds like you may have messed something up good. I'd run those codes again.

Well problem solved. This morning I drove car 2 miles to work so I could check the codes, and discovered that it was not taking off in 1st gear (2nd instead) Codes were u1000 and u1001. Basically the codes were a failure to communicate with one of the computers. NEEDLESS to say, I'm an idiot . While hard wiring my radar detector I used one of those add a fuse for mini fuses but I only put one fuse in the holder and it had a place for two. On top of that, I had incorrectly placed the fuse in the 'a/t cont' location, with only one fuse. Discovered what I did, made necessary changes and she drives like normal... Relief!

Thanks. For further update the buzzing sound is the same sound it makes when you do the drop resistor mod(just found this out), so I guess without that fuse it disables the drop resistor.
