shaking

i just picked up a 02 6 speed maxima today and started to notice a problem on the way home. feels like a motor mount problem and kinda seems like a misfire. my friend has a 350z and told me that if it was a misfire i would get a engine light. engine runs smoth at idle, you cant even tell its running , it has 170,000 miles. when i floor it i feel it shaking especially at low rpm. no engine light comming on either..

i think im going to just throw some new plugs at it first. im guessing they might be the OE plugs and were never changed out. smooth idle, just bucks when i give it a lot of throttle sometimes...

Find a hill. Put the car in 3rd and try to climb the hill while keeping rpm at 2-2.5K.

If its smooth, not ignition related, if it struggles; you got a problem.

i live in central florida and its all flat out here. only hills i go up are overpasses but the closes one is 15 miles away. ill try it tomorow on my way to work..

when i test drove the car i didnt notice it, and i drove it hard. when i left the dealer i filled up at the gas station next door cause it was empty, i did use premium. about 2 lights down when i got to an area with less traffic and i got into higher gear i noticed it. than i started feeling it at higher rpms too and in 1st sometimes. it comes and goes. sometimes ill floor it and it will accelerate smooth and other times ill feel it bucking.

Pretty much the same here in north FL, except there are bridges here in town that cross over the St. John's river.

Where in central FL are you? There are some hilly areas in the middle of the state. Back when I was in an Audi club around 13ish years ago, we took a trip to Lakeridge Winery in Clermont, and the drive there was pretty hilly. They have a lookout tower there with coin operated binoculars, and on a clear day you can see both coasts.

Could be mounts, when u slam gears does it sound like ur dash is going to break off? That was most noticeable issue when I had bad mounts, the motor would jump around in engine bay if I shifted it hard. If so it's time for some polyurethane

its not that bad. it doesnt do it till the car is warmed up pretty good. when i woke up this morning to go to the gym i didnt feel anything till the car was warmed up. its about a 10 minute drive on a 45 mph road.

this is the newest car ive ever owned. only time ive ever felt this kind of issue with my other cars it would be the spark plugs. this is also the most powerfull car ive owned so far, so i guess it would it shake harder.

i bought this car cause i always wanted a maxima since i drove my friend 95 SE 5 speed. it sucks to by a car and already have to start doing repairs. on top of that i have my CRX engine rebuilt and ready to be put back in.

i tried the hill climb in 3rd at 2,000 rpm and it can do it smoothely as long as i dont press the gas down too much.

maybe you got a batch of bad gas, but i think its probably coils and within a few weeks you will get a code.
