anyone knows of cheap insurance?

Guys,
Does anyone knows where can I get cheap insurance in Texas? Somehow I find that my premium is pretty high. $530 for 6 months and my collision deducaible is 1000. I do think that is a bad deal.

You think that's bad? I'm paying a bit over $1k/6mo. And all the good insurance carriers won't give me a chance to try them out because i have, get this, "Less than 3 years driving record in the US"

and they call this the land of opportunity *sigh*

--- gripe mode off---

Sorry about that gripe

AAA usually has the best rates around. Check your local AAA

Gieco or Progressive...

I had Gieco until they dropped me when my last car got stolen.

Now I have Progressive and pay $835/6-months and that's if I pay it in full. I have 25K/50K levels with a $1000 deductible and FREE glass with NO tickets/accidents and I'm 24.

I wish I had <$100/month insurance for full coverage.

Age makes a BIG difference my friend. I have no tickets, accidents, and my location of residence is good.

I hope turning 25 does SOMETHING for my insurance.

Turning 25 will drop it at least 25% or more. Being married will do that also. The two in combination, man you are talking about over 50% drop and more.

How are AAA on claims? I've got State Farm...Man, those guys like their money...They don't like to pay, and if they do, they'll make sure YOU do.

I'm in Colorado, so I don't know if these two firms operate in Texas or not, but I researched every single insurance company I could find both before I turned 25, and after. What I found in my state: American Family was the best for under 25, especially if you have a clean record, and Sentry was the best for over 25. If you've got more than one ticket in the past three years, though, all bets are off.

hmmm from your posts seems that I did not get a bad deal after all. The only problem that I am *****ing about is that my premium when I came to US 3 years ago was 590/6 months and now that I am over 25, they only dropped so little. Oh well i guess I will stick with farmers insurance then.

I have Farmers Insurance too. Over 25, single, no accidents in the last 3 years. I pay 531/6 months for full coverage. 500 deductible and 20K/40K coverage. I live in Harris County in Houston.

For the Ft Bend guy, you're lucky, rates are cheaper in Ft Bend than in Harris County.

If you're also in Harris County and you have a clean driving record, he might be able to help. Agent is Steve Host 281-497-0017.
