wheel shaking

I have a 2001 Nissan, I was told that the lower control arm need to be replaced because it has to much play in it. I want to know if I have to replace the whole arm or can i just rplace the ball joint to stop the wheel from wobbling? Also I keep wearing out tires on the passenger front side, I think it may need a wheel alignment, could that be the isssue becaue I have replaced 2 tires within 3 weeks? THANKS FOR AN HELP!

Most likely you can just replace the bushings in the LCA. I think you need a press but I'm not sure. It is possible this is causing wear on your tires but 2 tires in 3 weeks is a little crazy. If a mechanic said the LCA is loose then replace it before a ball joint.

If you havent had an alignment in a while it is likely none of your components are bad and this is causing your tires to wear abnormally. I had this problem except it was on $800 summer tires and I ran through a ton of tread before I made it to the alignment shop.

Yes you can replace the BJ' without replacing the whole CA but if the BJ's are bad then likely the CA bushings are bad as well, either way you should replace both while you are in there
