2003 VQ35DE - Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Does the VQ35DE have a fuel pressure regulator? I see a pulsation dampener on the fuel rail but I don't see the traditional fuel pressure regulator with the vacuum nipple. The FSM doesn't seem to show one as well.

How is the fuel pressure regulated on the VQ? Is everything controlled via injector pulse widths? Does the fuel pump see varied voltages to adjust for pressure during less demanding fuel requirements?

i beleive the fuel reg is in the pump, it is a non return fuel system as opposed to the VQ 30 with a return which has a FPR and a dampener on the rails.this is all i know..

Yup! User name is right the 3.5 is pretty much a returnless system.

The regulator is part of the pump in the tank.
The pump runs constantly just like a normal system and the regulator in tank just bleeds off the excess fuel.

The regulated fuel runs through a single line to the engine

Thanks for your response guys. Is the regulator a replaceable component or is it part of the fuel pump itself? I think I'm going to hook up a dvom just to see if voltages to the pump varies or not. I'm curious.

The voltage doesn't vary. You are thinking of a full returnless system. Pump is a standard 12v pump, not a pulse controlled style.

And its possible to replace the fpr, but the is no need to. And Nissan probably doesn't list one, its sold as a unit.
