I read that the 2000 gxe max does not have electric mounts. is this true? if I can avoid buying the mt on eBay and just buy the es mounts/bushings and have them pressed into the mounts presently on the max would be great. Any insight would be great.

I have searched the forum, but there is no info about the 00 GXE model having non-electric mounts. Can anyone verify this?

I am under the impression that electric motor mounts were standard on all 5th gens that have an auto trans. But what you can do is see if you have the wire for an electric motor mount plugged into the harness.

Thank you!!!!

Thank you, fellas. I found the connection that you were referring to. I obtained the information from the es website, "The 00 max GXE (auto) does not have electric motor mounts, so I just pressed out the old rubber and pressed in the ES bushings and I was good to go."
Needless to say, I was thoroughly confused on this matter. I am in the market for new mounts because every time I reverse in the max, a push on the accelerator causes my engine to literally jump as if it was trying to jump out of the engine bay. If that is the case, would the engine and transmission be out of alignment?

It would be very rare to have engine/transmission problems because of bad motor mounts.

Should I buy manual motor mounts and buy the es stuff? Do I have to change anything to accommodate fitment?

Since you don't have the electric motor mounts, you don't have to buy new mounts if you intend to press in ES bushings. You can use your old mounts if the down time of removing old mounts, cleaning out old rubber, pressing in the ES bushing and then re-installing the mounts isn't a problem.

If down time is a problem, get mounts from a junk yard and put the ES bushings in them.

A point you need to know if you are going to get mounts from anywhere is that the mount that attaches to the transmission is different for auto and standard trans, the other 3 are the same.
