Rear cat on 2000 Cali Maxima.....
....I've searched a bunch and looked at diagrams on google. The configurations I've seen seem to suggest that all 4 o2 sensors on the cali maxima are before the final downstream cat. There's no sensors after...is this correct? So i can technically get either a high flow cat or a straight pipe after the Y pipe coupled with a catback exhaust...and have nothing but the y pipe pre cats on the car? Please tell me I'm right....
P.S Not to be confused with the Federal Maxima that has one sensor way in the back.....

It has been a while since I looked at my main cat on my 2k (Cali emissions), but I distinctly remember an O2 sensor on the cat or just after it.
If you have the car just peek under there to see where you can spot the O2 sensors.
As far as a straight pipe you would probably see more gain from putting in an aftermarket y-pipe. It is bolt on and won't affect emissions or throw an SES code.

The sensor visible under the car is the B1 pre cat sensor...there is a cat further down the car that has no sensors in it or after it. Everything Ive heard about the ypipe is that is DOES throw a code and requires o2 sims......
