HELP ! - Sound Deadening ? AFTER Dynamat - Input please
I have a 2003 MAX SE
I got 2 15's and recently installed them with a decent amp and wiring kit.
I recently notice that nissan even put some factor deadening material inside the trunk (which ain't sht but every bit helps!)
Anyhow, they ran out of dynamat and still I have some spots to lay out some dynomat.
With that said, I have some powerful *** subs - Dynamats in but still get a nasty nasty rattle at higher sound levels.
I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge of where this car rattles the most and how to fix?
Anything else I can add to fix rattle issues??
Thanks.
MIND you - my car is already dynamatted.

The rear seat belt holders are notorious for causing rear deck rattle. There is a detailed write up on how to fix it. Basically you have to remove the rear deck and the seat belts, their plastic retaining buckets and use a little bit of Dynamat to jamb the seatbelts into the buckets

^^Agreed. At a certain point youre going to have rattle.
Have you done anything with the factory jack? How about the trunk latch? Trunk lid torsion bars? seat belts? rear decklid? this list can keep going.
I have about 20sq.ft on my trunk lid alone. Yet my latch still causes a rattle

Just a little suggestion.you know the sprayfoam in a can? It works but do yourself a favor first use heavy duty plastic or trash bags expand the bag in the area first then spray the foam into the bag.the reason for this is if you ever need access to that area you can cut the foam out without it sticking to the metal or plastic of the car.

Have you done sound deadening foam and jute padding? If not remember dynamat is just the first of a multi step process to full sound deadening. You need not only structural sound deadening like dynamat but you also need airborne dampeners like heavy jute and sound deadening foam to eliminate rattle.

Here's a ridiculously easy way to save some rear deck rattling. Go to a sporting goods store and get yourself a few handballs. Stuff them between the edge of the rear deck and rear window. This saved me almost all of my rear deck rattle, but I doubt I had as much power as your putting out. I've got 300 rms now to an 8" sub, and the only time I really crave more bass is on the highway where it gets drowned out a bit. I just took out my rear seatbelts and tell passengers in the back to grab the OSH haha no backseat drivers w me...
One more suggestion, if you bolt down that box the subs are in, it will help A LOT! I had my 12" sub box bolted onto a 3/4" plywood piece cut to size and cement sealed in the spare tire well, that got rid of 90% of rattling in itself, transferring the energy from the sub straight to the body of the vehicle. This'll create bass you feel, instead of more of a sound kind of... anyway good luck there's a million solutions to this problem, just concentrate on the areas that are causing the rattle
