HID install - HELP

for those of you who have installed their OEM HID lights, what do you do with the green/white (low-beam - driver's side) wire coming off of the H4 plug? i've read dixit writeup and i didn't see where it should be spliced to.

correct me if i'm wrong, but there are 2(two) green/white wires...one that on the turn signal (TurnSignal blinker) and the other on the H4 (Lowbeam).

isnt' that the one to be capped off? meaning you don't use it? i take it you're doing the non-relay setup. If so, I believe Dixit's writeup says which two wires (1 on driver's side, 1 on passenger side)are not used. Try double check again, cause I think you don't use that wire.

The low-beam switched ground wire is unused from the H4 harness.

Unused wire

i'll try the install without using that wire on the H4 connector.

i'm actually building a "patch" cord for the 2000 Maxima harness to the HID's. I didn't want to cut the connectors on the original harness. DaveB got me all the parts. i'll post pics of it when i'm done. many thanks to dixit for his work on the lights. very clear and straightforward.

check one of the HID write-ups for the wire colors... I don't recall...

The fogs are supposed to go off when you hit your high beams...

Okay let me answer some questions the best I can. First off, the OEM version of your car makes the fog lights go off when you use the high beam lever. Now to fix that, you would need to tap the foglight relay wire to a source where the ground is not switched. But that is too complicated unless i look at the ESM, leave that along for now.

Now to answer the wire question, GREEN/Yellow - Ground (Driverside LowBeam) and BLUE/Black - Ground (Passengerside LowBeam) ARE NOT USED in my setup. just tuck them away.

The HIDs get power from the 12V wire from the H4 harness, and ground from the body.

Do not consfuse the turnsignal wires with the H4 harness. Make sure of this.

Here, a pic of the wires already connected and one open which is the one you leave alone...

LOL! That was a pick before I made it neat showing the wire color codes. I used electrical tape like the factory did and wrapped it all up in one line of wires.

Not all the wires are supose to be connected as it was written. You did not follow them correctly. Go back and re-read about 5 times and you will see what you did wrong.
