Any suggestions on what to replace for a clutch pedal groan

Clutch pedal has been making a groaning/spring compression noise for the last 5-10k. It is clearly around the clutch pedal as the noise can be heard with the car off. I tried lubricating the assist spring with both grease and WD40 but no luck. Should I just replace the whole assembly or does someone have a specific suggestion? Thanks.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine started doing the same thing yesterday.

There are several parts of the clutch pedal assembly that Nissan recommends you lubricate on a regular basis. See page CL-5, parts 4, 14, 15, 18 and 19.

Slave cylinder is likely on its way out or the plunger for the clutch under the dash. Any clutch engagement issues?

Lubricated all the contact points yesterday and the noise immediately went away. Thought it might come back this morning due to cooler temps but so far it is all quiet.
