JWT intake

Where's the cheapest place that anyone has purchased this from lately? Courtesy had it at $120 w/o shipping. Anyone beat that? Thanks

Man no flame here, but I hate how these pop chargers are selling for more than $110, it is nothing but a K&N or Generic 3" Cone filter attached to a "velocity stack" that attaches to the MAF

I mean you can make this without the velocity stack for $30, the cost of the filter.

I dont think that velocity stack does too much, just my opinion.

I was thinking of just running some 3" tubing from my (empty) fog lamp holes up to the area of the the cone filter to provide a source of fresh air (and dirt, dust, small birds etc.) for the CAI affect, but figured I would go with at least the decent cone to start. I agree $120 is bunk but I'm not paying for Stealin either.

I know a few people do this at the track...but lots of water problems if it rains where you are. Don't know if this is practical for daily driving.

There are a ton of mods that are too expensive! That's life.
I see people buying a lot of other crap they could
make. By the looks of it I don't think many people care
about the cost of mods.

Not much rain overall in Denver when we don't get the Monsoon season like last year. Maybe I'll have it so I can cap it when it rains, something real simple like. Who knows this could be another Ooglie invention. I think it will be OoglieCAI if nobody has taken that one.

I paid $100 for my JWT and I'm happy with it.
It was worth it in my opinion.

The majority of the cost is in the velocity stack.

A poorly designed one (those cheap plastic ones you buy for $30) will do more harm in impeding air flow by causing turbulence.

No I understand you there, but if I got a $30 Cone filter, and attached it STRAIGHT to the MAF sensor without the "adapter plate" then it is straight through air. No restrictions. Only disadvantage there is that you would have to cut the square side of the MAF sensor and allow the 3" pipe to fit straight into the Cone filter.

Even then, I seen most adapter plates, ALL METAL by the way, have a straight 4bolt square to 3" opening plate. Does not look like ANY restrictions there.

a properly designed venturi stack will still flow more than a normal adapter. when racing, all the extra hp comes as a welcome
