Do you have manual or automatic climate control?

If you have automatic climate control, you have a fan control amplifier.

I've repaired the fan control module in my 03 with automatic climate control. The component inside the module that failed was a "thermal cutoff/cutout". Following something I found on the web a couple years ago, I was able to solder a bypass wire in place long enough to test and verify the module as the problem. Ordered a new thermal cutoff from digikey and replaced it, whole thing cost me $4.50. Not sure if that procedure is on this site, but you can probably search it or google it.
