HARSH ride after tein ss install

Hey guys. I just installed some tein coliovers and lowered my car about 1.5"-2" and over certain bumps it hits HARD and when i say hard i mean HARD. I was wondering if an alignment will fix this? Or are teins that rough? I've riden in cars with coilovers before and its not that rough over bumps. Any help would be great, Thanks.

Try alignment first, but my BC coilovers can't be plowed over speed bumps.

What do you mean cant be plowed over speed bumps? And im hoping its just the alignment. Everything else suspension wise is solid on the car

When I got over speed bumps, I have to slowly roll over them. Everything is going to seem harsher with coilovers.

Try adjusting the dial on the top of coils
you may just have them set to really stiff.

Are yours new? Verify you adjusted them to "soft" and not "stiff". On the softest setting, there is only a little more feel than OEM. I also had the TEIN SS-P setup.

That's strange. SS's are supposed to be comfy and cushion-y. You used OEM top hats right? Made sure everything was assembled properly?

Something is wrong. Those coils ride smoother than stock.

The softest setting is turned all the way to the left. And everything was assembled properly with OEM mounts

The Teins are only 16 way adjustable IIRC, BUT you can actually turn them way past that, up to something like 36 'clicks'

The clicks after #16 are for MAINTENANCE/REBUILD!!!!

If you have turned the dial out more than 16 clicks from full-stiff (clockwise until the stop) then you are in the maintenance zone, and you should not drive the car with it set in that range, you can/will cause damage to the shocks.

Turn them all the way stiff, drive it for a bit, then back it off to 10 clicks from full stiff, drive it again.

If you still have a very harsh ride there is a problem with the installation, or the shocks are smoked.

I did tthe alignment at my work today and it fixed it. My toe was at -22 degrees on the passenger side so my control arm was taking the impact not the strut

Did you not hear the tire just squealing away? I was 0.58 degrees and it was terrible. You might be missing some decimals. Just sayin`

Not necessarily better than OEM because you feel more of the bumps but it rides pretty good. And yeah you could here that wheel bearing stressing lol I'm glad I got it done before I blew that wheel bearing and control arm out
