Weak car start?
its been really cold around here and my car has been acting like the battery is dying. it will start up but very weak sometimes. i had the battery and alternator tested at the auto store and they said they were fine. what is my problem then? today when i got in the car my mileage counter was reset even though i didn't disconnect the battery. anyone know what's going on? please help. thanks

Your mileage counter (as you call it) being reset is another problem you are having. It should not be reset just because you disconnect the battery.
I have this problem, too and if I ever I figure it out, I'll let you know.

Is not ur starter, if the starter is going bad it will make a noise or just die. Check your terminals but if the battery was tested thats not it. Your alternator is going bad. Do this simple test, diconect the positive terminal while the car is on, if the car dies, there is your answer... New alternator.....

2 - This is not a good thing to do to the Maxima. Without the load created by the battery, the voltage regulator can cause the alternator to go to 18 volts. It is much better to use a voltmeter. Good alternator = about 14 volts, bad alternator = battery voltage.
