Clean the ground connections, starting with the one on the battery.

Your mileage counter (as you call it) being reset is another problem you are having. It should not be reset just because you disconnect the battery.

I have this problem, too and if I ever I figure it out, I'll let you know.

Could be your starter is going bad. Especially if it's original. My car had weak starts for a couple of months until the starter finally died.

Lol. Odometer I meant say. This has only happened to my odometer once so far. Yeah for sure let me know if you find out anything. I will have to check my starter also. Thanks

Is not ur starter, if the starter is going bad it will make a noise or just die. Check your terminals but if the battery was tested thats not it. Your alternator is going bad. Do this simple test, diconect the positive terminal while the car is on, if the car dies, there is your answer... New alternator.....

1 - Not true. If the lubrication in the planetary gearset is drying up, the starter will spin slower, i.e., crank the engine slower, and you might think the battery is not fully charged. Other than sounding slower, the starter sounds normal.

2 - This is not a good thing to do to the Maxima. Without the load created by the battery, the voltage regulator can cause the alternator to go to 18 volts. It is much better to use a voltmeter. Good alternator = about 14 volts, bad alternator = battery voltage.
