why such bad mpg???

i replaced my plugs not to long ago and it helped my mpg out but its still super thirsty. i know i have a supercharged car, but if i baby it i should get decent mpg right??? i have an o2 sensor code so if i fix the sensors will that make my mpg better?? fuel filter? mileage is horrible as is.

That's bad, lol... It could be that o2 sensor that you said you were throwing codes for. I noticed significant gas mileage gains once I replaced two of my sensors.

So, until you post actual numbers, I might be forced to close this thread.

It can't be nearly as bad as my Pathfinder, and that needle doesn't move even when I nail it.

What injectors do you have and what's your AFR look like?

I don't even have my primaries connected and I get about 22-24, 28 on the highway.

What was the actual measured MPG again?

So in other words, you THINK you've got poor mileage but not even one set of mpg numbers to base your "thoughts" on?

Make sure you get us actual numbers and not "300 miles to a tank." This is especially critical since you have no real baseline to compare against.

besides all that, fuel filter replacement is definitely recommended you could see 1-3 MPG improvements if original filter is in there.

Not with the 5th gen. 5th gen fuel filter is a "lifetime" filter, located in or near gas tank, not in engine bay.

Meh...it may, it may not impact your mileage.

I would recommend you start calculating your MPG first and getting some baseline numbers before you do any type of work or parts changing.

4. Re-fill your tank completely
5. Record miles driven between #2 and #4
6. Record Gallons you put in tank at #4
7. Divide Mile reading you got at #5 by Gallon reading you got at #6

EXAMPLE:

1. Fill tank completely done
2. Reset trip odo 0 miles
3. Drive as far as you feel like, doesn't matter much 200 miles
4. Re-fill your tank completely done
5. Record miles driven between #2 and #4 200 miles
6. Record Gallons you put in tank at #4 8 Gallons
7. Divide Mile reading you got at #5 by Gallon reading you got at #6 200 Miles / 8 Gallons = 25 MPG

This is why these threads fail, no one has a bloody clue how to calculate their mileage, and everyone throws out numbers.

and you are totally correct with it technically being lifetime and with its location, but it is proven to help mileage replacing the lifetime filter, please search there's plenty of info on both 5th and 5.5 gen fuel filter replacements.

OP well worth it on a higher mileage car
