5.5 removal thread

I've looked and looked for this thread to remove my 3.5L. All I find is a bunch of people talking about what they plan on doing while replacing the engines. Who has the write up on how to remove the engine from a 2002 SE? That's all I ask!

Just did it the last couple days on my 02 se. Transmission out the bottom and engine out the top. Nothing really hard with the exception of me pulling apart the passenger axle trying to get it out. Just unhooked wiring, accessories, hoses, etc. Took the axles out, then dropped the transmission out the bottom, and pulled the engine out the top. Getting ready to put the new/used engine back in today as a matter of fact and hoping that it will be running by this evening.

FYI an impact wrench makes the whole job 100 times easier, my buddy has a cheap electric one from harbor freight and it's great. Removed every bolt including exhaust bolts without mishap.

I'm sure its nothing hard to do. I'm a DIY'er but its always good to have the correct step when doing something like this. As far as the passenger side axle. my brother has cattman exhaust and it was pretty easy to get to the bolts where the axle mounts to the frame. Looks like I need to remove the y pipe to get to mine...any shortcuts or tips you have for this or the tear down.
