exhaust ground

why is there a ground wire on the main cat?

out of all the cars i ve had this is the first one ive seen with a grounding strap on the exhaust..

All three of my Maxima(s) have a ground strap connected to the exhaust (3rd, 4th and 5th gen)!!!!!!

We all know our cars have poor grounding from the factory... this is probably an attempt to further ground the chassis to the engine through the exhaust.

Hmm... I don't understand how that would work at all. Its not connected to anything electrical.

I was under my car today and noticed a braided ground hanging near there broken. I was wondering what it was supposed to go to, this must be it.
