5th Gen: What did you do to your 5th Gen today?

How can I route it to the fender? More pipes?
^^@AT978...What they are saying here is...whether its an injen branded or a knock off that design its basically a HAI...
HAI=Hot Air intake..
A nomer given to the injen design due to where it places the filter....directly in front of the radiator sucking in hot air..
luckily tho, with some minor tweaking..you can convert it into a cai with it being routed into the fender...

^ All you guys with the seats...are the i35 rears special or what? Better than the Maxi rears? I cant really remember em being any different.
Sold an 03 i35 recently, had a black interior like my 5th gen...I couldve swapped back seats....but my rears are in perfect shape..
Now the front seats...I shouldve swapped those out and had a perfect fresh pair of 03 heated leather, mine is in great shape but the driver seat outside edge is always slowly developing some spider webs.

I never really paid attention, had no clue that are heated

The only way you can tell is by the switch located by the window switches on the back doors. Its a real easy thing to miss if you dont know they're there!
#1291
Ahhh i see. That makes sense. The i35 I had was a fully loaded every option plus sports package, Im guessing it had heated rears and I didnt even know. Couldve stolen em for my car and put mine in there....it wouldn't of had any impact on my selling price lol

^^^Props to those doing i35 cluster swaps...for the sake of being different. but my 2 cents the maxima layout looks far superior than that imo. dual same sized center guages with 2 smallers on the sides.
If the i35 had a center larger tachometer i could see the benefit..but its a speedo. Mehh

And I really like the "titanium" face gauges in daytime...much better than black background

I swapped it into a 2003. Compatibility-wise you would want an I35 cluster to go in a 5.5 gen Maxima only. Anything else poses some issues.
Thanks for the props and I understand that it may not be for everyone. Hell it may not even be for me for long but most of the stuff that I do with this car is purely for fun. Lots of stuff I like, lots of stuff doesn't stick around for long (example - hood bug deflector - yuck). All of it has been enjoyable.
The TE cluster is nice and with led's even nicer but I get bored easy and the I35 cluster is kind of the opposite of the Max cluster - subdued and kind of hidden until you turn the car on. With a completely black interior it works even more imo. We'll see if it sticks around.
Oh and did you see the I35 cluster goes to 260km/h!!! That's worth it right there.

I was having some hesitation issues and I'm at 113k on the odometer.
I'm like the third owner and when I took her over she was hurtin for some TLC. At that time, replaced coils, cleaned MAF and TB... better but still lagging a bit.
So I decided to Seafoam the Max this past weekend. I messed up the part when you let the TB suck up the last 3rd... kept stalling even with only a tiny bit going in. Finally realized after restarting the car four times, that the AC was on.
At any rate... what a difference! I know there are dissenting opinions about Seafoam's effectiveness, but I can tell you that it was immediately more powerful and responsive.
Maybe bc of the age, mileage, and condition it came to me... but im thankful I did it. Now if I can just fix my low end rattle.

Loaded? No.
Tired of coming out to my Max needing air in the tires? Yes.
Since i bought the car I've had issues with my tires going flat randomly.. Especially when it gets cold. Ive had tires replaced and rims cleaned of corrosion multiple times to no avail. So, since i need new tread before winter anyway i figured Id finally dive into a set of new rims. Wanted the G35 18s.. But of course now that im looking to buy they're nowhere to be found on CL :\_

Matter of fact, this happened with the fool who installed my current tires..it had a slow leak like 1-2psi a day....I had to call the company back and have their rep come out to my house and do it properly.

This is probably true. I seen many tire places mess up with alum. wheels before, if they dont clean em properly when they put tire on it doesn't bead properly and causes a slow to moderate air leak.

I think Ive decided on some replica rays.. 18x9. Not my favorite choice, but the price is too good to not give them a shot.
Ive always heard that wider rims/tires are worse in snow and ice. This will be my last Chicago winter so I will be getting all season rather than winter tires
Will i die this winter going from 17x7 to 18x9?

But two knocks on them IMO are the compound is a bit too hard and sidewalls not stiff enough, makes it not the best all season for turn in response.
I'm thinking bout trying these new Yokohama A/S, which are rated basically identical to the Pirelli P zero nero...should be softer compound and well better handling on dry roads.
