ses light comes and go's, comes and go's

last time I checked it was the p0420 code. It will stay off for a month or two and come back for about a week and repeat.

this has been happening for about a year now.

with the light off I don't get any codes(figured if there was a problem and there might be, that the code would pop up even if the ses light was off)

anyone who has had this problem, what did you do?

I'm thinking about having a local shop that's well trusted by a technician friend of mine just weld on the new cat.

suggestions?

No need to weld on a new cat. Just install a new cat the correct way.

The light can come and go for a code like that. It is common.
