it's not your coolant dude. Forget that B/S.

Don't read into it so far, you'll waste money and time.

Check the ECT. If it's reading wrong the entire thing is a waste of time, the engine could be cooling 100% perfectly and you are chasing a non-existant issue.

Verify that sensor before doing more.

I Agree is their a test or just Replace? if it really wasn't overheating why's ac fade away then kick off *** it overheats?

okay i got way more serious issues I removed buddys perfectly cooling 00 Maxima Radiator and OEM Thermostat completely Bled system went for a cruise after 25miles at 70mph n 2800-3000rpms and ac on Its started to go up n overheat AGAIN!!!

okay their somethin that snapped in my head today idk if any u guys seen my Transaqua offshore Antifrease Thead but all problems started overheating 3days after putting it in **** got really bubbly and guess just isn't for a car so i flushed it out and problem never left. I've emptied n refilled system a Good 10 times since and still problems so I'm starting to think "if not bad ect sensor" that their is a thick film stuck in cooling system not allowing it to cool properly.

so what would be a REALLY TOUGH Detergent to flush system out with?

Heater blows cold when idleing n fully bled 1 miles down road it jus out of blue blows HOT and slowly over heats on hwy after 25miles.

Oh and it never Overheats Too far it goes to second line like 3/4 in stays their then out blue will slow cool down n sit really cool at 1/4 at times i put heat on cause i don't feel safe her spinnin 2700rpms n hot i put heater on low n immediately drops temp. really weird. and upper n lower hoses are Hot when says overheating so i know theirs flow.

THANK U GUYS SO MUCH FOR HELP!

You can check the the coolant temperature with an OBD code reader. The real cheap readers probably won't give you temperature, though. The engine should run at around 200 degrees under easy driving load.

The engine has 2 temperature sensors, the ECTS for the ECU that is read by the OBD reader and the one for the dash gauge. But I guess you know that.

By monitoring the ECTS sensor and comparing it to what the gauge is doing, I am hoping that we can figure out what is going on. If the OBD readout follows what the gauge is doing, then you are still dealing with a cooling problem. I doubt that replacing the ECTS would do anything. But if the OBD readout is steady, then either the gauge or the sender for the gauge is bad.

Nope, wasn't aware of two ECTS Thanks for that info! My Matco won't Read Temps but got a buddy with one that does all that plus more. ill take a trip with it and Monitor N get back With Update Asap!

Thanks Again Org!

I spoke too soon... it tried heating up again today over half way pulled over let cool and opened cap and she took dam near a whole Gallon..

I Give Up everythings Brand new OEM even cap! only thing left is water pump. i bled for entire hour let it idle put toyota red in didn't loose a single drop stayed topped up never over heated.

The entire hour the heater would not even get slightly warm untill i rev engine up and front was jacked up when i bled system..

basicly I'm done with this engine it has to be a cracked/warped Head or Block/headgasket i can't think of NOOO other reason why its doing this. mysterious coolant loss and NO LEAKS NOWHERE! no smoke engine runs full of power plugs all still beautiful.

any input? Guess takin it to shop to remove engine sunday till then I'm gonna dawg it to death. Hopefully make the problem bigger so i can track it.

i can get another engine lower miles for 350.

Okay update....

I IDLED CAR FOR 1HR AND 40 MINUTES BLEEDING SYSTEM IT NEVER BLED IT HAS RANDOM BUBLES EVERY 6 SECONDS OR SO AND EVERYTIME FANS KICK ON I MYSTERIOUSLY LOOSE ABOUT 7OZ OF COOLANT EVERY SINGLE TIME AND NO LEAK NOWHERES NO WATER OR SMOKE OUT MUFFLER.

When it overheats upper hose feels boiling water....it never overheated idling cuz i kept adding water. heater blows cold till revved up. heater hoses are cool till rev up then get hot both em.

I removed fan power idled till got hot and hoses rock hard turned car off and no leaks nowhere.

PLEASE SOMEONE CHIME IN WITH KNOWLEGE.

I was hoping this was over with. So, did you ever replace the autozone thermostat with a Nissan one? Those autozone thermostats have bitten a lot of people in the butt.

But an even scarier possibility is the water pump. See this thread and scroll down to post # 31.

As bad as that is, and it is I think the OP would prefer a disintegrated water pump to a blown head gasket. Much Much lesser of 2 evils

Of course a disintegrated water pump does also suggest a drasticley, severely neglected cooling system. Hopefully a proper and extended flush with thermostat removed should help clear stuff out, but still

I pulled Radiator out and blew through it and was pretty damn hard went bought new one n blew thru it with ease.

so my Radiator was clogged after a year and fresh antifrease smh! At least i know my entire cooling system is up to date except w/p.

And yes Thermostat and water outlet came from Nissan. I took azones back for my money back.
