I spent all day Sat. using the clay bar!!
Well first I rotated my tires and cleaned my fenderwells and insides of wheels. Then I washed and dried the car preparing it for the clay bar. I read the directions and proceed to rub the car with the clay and thought it was useless. I read the bottle again and made sure I was doing this correct, and it said "no hard rubbing is needed"! Well needless to say I started rubbing hard and all of a sudden the contaminates started disappearing from my paint. The car looks absolutely beautiful. Even my wife noticed the difference!!

After using the Clay bar, did you have to wax the car?

I clayed mine when I first got it, I think it had rail dust all over and felt like sand paper. A HUGE difference when done, it was smooth as glass. You have to make sure you rub lightly and keep it well lubed with soap / water mix. You should follow up with a glaze and then wax.
A short cut I discovered is to use the clay bar while the car is soapy during washing.
You get two birds with one stone this way and the soapy water does exactly what the spray bottles do, basically lubricate the surface for the clay bar.
