00 Vias need Vaccum Line?

I removed the midpipe silencer in intake and instaled oil breathers on valve covers question is theirs two vaccum lines not connected anymore one off vias solynoid and other have no idea.


is this a issue? been running fine past 1400 miles. but I'm barely learning about vias n how it works.

First off i searched for ever where even is the Vias solynoid located!!

The one hose on the VIAS is not a vacuum hose. It goes to the air filter box. The VIAS lets air into the intake manifold and the hose is a filtered air source. Do you have the stock air cleaner or has it been replaced?

There is a drawing in the 2001 FSM of where the VIAS unit is. Page 604 in the EC section.

I'm mistaking the swirl valve solynoid with vias i beleave....I'm lost.

Okay I'm done searching been searching for Hours!!! even the damm Repair Vias Thread does not show u where its located!! just shows back side and repairing insides!wtf!!!!

the repair manual are junk on here at least on a cell phone n are zero help for anything!!!



ANYBODY PLEASE CIRCLE IT AND POST PIC OF IT AND ITS LOCATION PLEASE N SO I CAN HELP OTHERS AS WELL CAUSE NOT A SINGLE PIC ON GOOGLE OR FOURM ALL ONLY 3.5'S!!!

I am not clear on the VIAS and swirl valves. The VIAS is for high rpms and the swirl valve is for idle/low rpms. They are both in the same spot on the engine. What I wonder is if the VIAS thing is on fed spec cars and the swirl valve is on Cali spec cars or is the "thing" on the engine a combined unit?

Compare the drawings. VIAS on page EC-604 and the swirl valve on page EC-454.

Here is a photo of the VIAS valve on my 2000 Fed spec car. I have only one vacuum (?) hose on it, while the drawings in the FSM so 2 hoses. I wonder if this is because of the FED spec and Cali differences.
