Starting problem No fuel

Hello everyone,
Thanks for the wealth of info here. I just purchased a 2001 nissan maxima se auto. The car was not running when I bought it. I have been checking it out and it seem its not getting fuel. I could hear the fuel pump come on when key is in the on position. I puled the plugs and they are dry as a bone. I sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body and it will start but cuts out as soon as I stop spraying.

After doing all this I went ahead and put in a new fuel pump. I am still getting the same issue as before but now when in the on position it sounds like the fuel pump just keeps running. I am out of ideas what it could be. Why would I not be getting gas into the cylinders if the fuel pump is running?

Thanks for the help in advance and thanks for letting me be a part of your forum.

So After reading a bunch more stuff. It seems Like it might be a NATS Issue. Security light is solid red by the clock. How do I know for sure? Also do I have to take it to the dealer to have them fix it or can a lock smith or myself do something like this?

O man! I assume you got a deal since it was not running. Sounds like all you gotta do is call a locksmith to reprogram and you got a nice running car. Good job!!

I called a locksmith out last night and he said his computers would not communicate with the ecm and that the ecm is more than likely bad. I am going to check all the fuses and if they are good I guess I have to find a used ecm. what years can I use and does it have to be from a auto car?
