cattman header install

im planning on installing my gen 2 cattman headers this weekend, is it needed to extend the o2 wiring for cattman headers or just for the obx? and also will o2 defoulers work or are o2 sims needed to keep the engine light from coming on.

your correct the o2 sensor harness for the 2 of them i think will need to be extended unless you currently have after market sensor for those 2 since sometimes they can be longer then stock and might work.

As for the spark defoulers i've always had good luck with then working on the rear so you shouldnt have a problem. Just make sure you only use the defoulers on your rear o2 sensors and not the front since you want those 2 to be just like factory since they deal with your a/f ratio the rear just check if you have a good catalytic converter or not and those are the one you want to trick.

If your running into space issues using them then you can get a 90 degree bend to go into the hole and then just use a defouler with it so you wont have clearance issue also it takes it even more out of the exhaust stream so even better.

Make sure to extend the wire before the harness instead of the wire between the harness and o2 sensor. Can cause a 'high voltage' cel

Also, not sure BUT, you may be able to separate the wire bundle and cut some tape and not have to do any of that actual extending.

Yes NmexMAX, no need to actually splice wires, here is my thread on how to extend the oem harness.

It's a bit lower, but I still think it's possible. Then again, I've got Cattman Gen 1, 3 pc.

Regardless of manufacturer, if the wires are not long enough, something needs to be done. The write up focuses on the ability to add length easily without cutting or paying $$ for harness extenders. This works, Greg did this with his OBX just as I did it with my Cattman's.

Good to know, I'm trying this soon. Been driving the car too much lately and well, it's never cool at a convenient time to try. 2000 miles in a month.
