2001 cruise control -no lights question
2001 cruise control -no lights question
Hi everyone,
I'm preparing my Maxima for a trip from Milwaukee to the east coast, and one of the items on my to-do list is repair a non-functional cruise control. I was following the instructions here: https://maxima.org/showthread.php?p=8758116#post8758116
When I started to check the pins connected to the control module behind the radio that were recommended to test, I noticed that pin #9, which is supposed to be a pink wire that changes with pressing/holding the main switch, doesn't exist. There's no wire there, nor is there a loose pink wire dangling anywhere. I checked, re-checked, someone else checked. Definitely no wire. Is this the obvious problem or is my car different?
My car's a 2001 AE with the automatic
Thanks.

That pin 9, pink wire applies to the Infiniti i30, which is what the OP has. The Maxima is different.
On the Maxima, pin 24 sends ground to the steering wheel switch. Pin 11 goes to ground when the ON button is pushed. Then pin 15 goes to ground to light the lamp in the instrument cluster.
Pin 11 = green/yellow stripe
Pin 15 = yellow
Pin 24 = green/orange stripe

Obviously you haven't learned to speak Nissanese. There is no such thing as cruise control in Nissanese, so our cars don't have cruise control. But they do have Automatic Speed Control Device (ASCD).
The information is in the EL (electrical) section of the FSM under ASCD. Then comes the next challenge - how good are you at reading Nissanese wiring diagrams?
