Suspension Noise

After driving my recently purchased 02 model, I have began to notice noises coming from the front suspension. The car rides pretty smooth, but makes a lot of noise on the road. Because the ride is smooth I don't feel like the struts could be totally spent and perhaps the noises are coming from worn bushings? The noises I am experiencing don't just occur on bumpy roads but also on smoother ones as well.
I am no expert on suspension so I hope the description above is somewhat accurate. Also the front tires aren't completely worn, but aren't new by any means. The treads are still visible but any advice on a good quality and fair price tire would be much appreciated as well. Thanks again.

Check the sway bar links for any looseness. Put the car on a lift and pull on them perpendicular to the bolts to see if they need tightening or replacement.
