my lights are not working by the shift and the def buttons where is that bulb located and how do i get to it

 

There are a couple of write ups for the defrost bulb(s) be a great opportunity to upgrade to LED's. You will have to source the bulbs (there are three) and pull out the entire control unit. Shinjiduo and Amerikaner are two members who can provide you with the appropriate LED's to fit.

As far as the shifter, it is a single bulb, so it may be blown as well. That one is a PITA to change. Superbrightleds.com is another good option. Would also be a good time to upgrade your dash lights. I suggest two warm (guages) and two cool (digital indicators) colored bulbs for the dash - assuming you have a 5.5gen.
