2003 maxima headlights

hey guys first post
stock vehicle
drivers side xenon headlight went out
---didn't want to buy 100$ bulb , so I bought 2 0f the same on ebay and changed both
----lights worked fine for a few weeks
----now I as im driving ,I see one bulb shut off, so I turn headlights off then on again , and the out one is back on and the OTHER one shuts off.
I do this repeatedly and when one goes back on , the other goes back off...doesn't happen all the time , but often enough, and I don't feel like going to dealer and getting ripped off.....I don't think its bulbs because they go back on ....I figure it might be some kind of switch or relay

thanks in advance

Is your car a Canadian Maxima? That sounds like the DRL module.

Cheap eBay bulbs are known to flicker and do weird things like that. Try a higher quality bulb like Philips or Morimoto ($45-$70 for a pair IIRC). And if the car is Canadian then definitely check out the DRL module
like DennisMik said.

It's those super cheap bulbs you bought. Try these out:

Better than eBay and almost as good as OEM.

I have 5000K D2S bulbs from them on the 5.5 at the moment and they are indeed pure white.

should have just got a complete 4300K 55 watt D2S kit from DDM tuning, it's like $50 and they have a great lifetime warranty. I have their kits on my car and my bike.

I had a headlight that would go out randomly and would reset with a flick of the headlight switch. It was fixed when I finally replaced the igniter attached to the pigtail for the bulb (not the ballast).

from my experience the stock bulbs outlast the ballast. I just changed the bulbs because they came with the kit.

actually had power connector issues at one point and had to wire in new connector for the passenger side ballast...

for now it was just bulbs, i replaced them last night. 5000K is definately nice, pretty much super white, very close to being a little too blue, but just under being any noticeable "blue" definitely more pure white. All in matter of taste, but yea.
Its interesting how much just 700k in color can do. (stock 4300k to 5000k)
fingers crossed that's it for now,

now i wanna update my fogs because the 5000k made my "clear" PIAA fogs look more yellow, I am thinking I take the PIAA xtreme white plus plunge to better match the 5000k morimoto, PIAA Platinum Super White is what i have now and its suposidly 3800K but i cant confirm that through PIAA.
