02' Problem with RF brake pads dragging

02 i35 with 100K miles, last week replaced rotors with Brembo OEM replacement from Rock Auto, Raybestos Calipers and warever ceramic pads from advance auto. Got every thing on to the service manual specs and bled the brakes with the motive power bleeder twice.

The problem is the right side pads are dragging, the thing sounds like a rail car. Wondering about a faulty caliper? I'm not driving it, except to test till the issue is resolved.

Would appreciate any ideas!

You titled the thread as RF dragging and then say the left side is dragging. Doesn't make any difference for problem resolution.

The first thing I would do is measure the thickness of the rotor compared to the original or the other side. Or you could swap the rotors side to side. If the rotor is the same size then check the size of the caliper.

What brand brake lube did you use? Did you clean all the retainer clips and slider pins thoroughly upon re-install, and then apply some caliper lube to the brake pad tabs (and pins)?

Sounds like the pads aren't retracting/sliding very well when you release the pedal, and that could be caused by lack of lubrication.

Will thanks for your reply, I used Autozone's house brand of brake DOT 3 brake fluid as I had on the rears with no issue. All the parts you mentioned were new and fully lubed at time of install.

NP! Also push back on your rotor shield to make sure it isn't touching the rotors. This can be a fairly common source of noises after a brake job too.

Slider pins have a rubber piece on them, those need to be replaced, same thing on the same side happened to me last year.

New caliper brackets came with the calipers which included new glide pins and boots. Will, I will definitely check those shields!
