Cheapest strut bar?...

Hey guys I was wondering where I can get a front strut bar cheapest. Looks aren't important I don't want to spend over $100.

Alex, if it fits a 4th gen, it can be GHETTO RIGGED to fit a 5th gen with a slight amount of hack-sawing.

Just like I did. HAhehehe

GENUINE TRUST OF JAPAN FSTB

I just received the "GENUINE TRUST OF JAPAN" strut bar from eBay. The seller's name is dohccivicna1250. On the package it states made in Taiwan (I wish the seller had just stated the real source of the bar as Taiwan now outputs very high quality merchandise).

On the plus side, it seems to be an excellent bar with quality paint and welds on the end plate. The hollow bar is light and highly polished. I can't confirm if the bar is T-6061 forged aluminum.

Overall a well made product. I've taken initial measurements and believe the bar will fit (2001 Max GXE).

I won't get a chance to install it unitl this weekend. At that time, I will follow up with both install problems (hopefully none) and high res. pictues.

Well I guess if it has flame red mounts and a chrome finish on the bar like the Courtesy (because I highly doubt Greddy makes it)...but if you got it for 79 or cheaper than it's okay cause its the same price as Courtesy.

Hey, waitaminute, I thought this had been settled already! That ISN'T a "Trust of Japan" (AKA "Greddy") FSTB at all isn't it? You guys were debating this about a month ago for that Trust bar for the 5th Gen cars. Do a search and see what I mean.

makeHerPurr: if that's the skinny tubular FSTB with black brackets for the 00-02 Maximas, then it's NOT the same as the Courtesy one, which you can see on their website. I think Courtesy's 4th Gen bar is similar to generic ones, but I don't remember now.

This is NOT a Greddy bar!!! It does have the black end plates. In terms of skinny, it's 0.9 inches in diameter.

Could you please take a caliper to yours and give me the dimensions.

Errr... I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're trying to compare the Trust bar to the Courtesy bar then I don't even have to measure the diameter because the Courtesy bar is an OVAL tube, not a round one. Brackets are similar though. See it here: Courtesy 2k FSTB

I believe Ludacris was mistaken, that's all. The eBay FSTB is the "Trust" one (which you should have), and I don't think I've seen a Courtesy-like one anywhere else recently. Hope that helps

Well, once you got rid of the tinted tails, I figured you didn't love me anymore.

Otherwise, I've been busy racing and goofing off and trying to buy a new house.
And, my father passed away too. So, it's been a hell of a year so far!

Condolencenses (if that is how you spell it) to your loss. It is very hard to lose someone close and important to your life.

Hey, you the one who got me to do the tails, it was SOOOOOOOOO Nice, but I began disliking it due to the fact it made my rear look flat, like there was nothing but a big black rear. Seemed odd, and secondly it just my light output at least by 50%. Which was not good. Then Thirdly, I got ticketed for it.

I then said, hell with it, spent 6hrs removing it with Non-Acetone Nail Polish remover. Now it looks normal again. Maybe I kinda over did it with putting about 7coats of it on each tail. But I sort of had to, I wanted it COMPLETELY blacked out, not smoked, the first coat did nothing, the second was slight smoked, and proceeded till I got it BLACK!. My bad for going overboard.

Once again, sorry for your loss, and glad to see you back again.

Yeah, if I remember that reading that thread right, that was a bar with red brackets that really DID look like the one Courtesy sells now right? I remember seeing you in that thread I think...

Also, I have no idea how old the 5th Gen Courtesy FSTBs get, but mine (which I bought "almost used") is a bit older because it does't have the Courtesy Nissan logo, but otherwise looks identical.
