Brake/Tail Lights wont turn off
Noticed an issue yesterday where my tail lights are always on on my 2000 Max. Had to unhook negative terminal on battery to preserve it. Wonder what might be the issue:
1. Checked the brake light switch, unplugged it and it did nothing.
2. Removed taillight fuse, and nothing happened
3. Removed taillight relay, and nothing happened with tail lights remaining on all occasion.
I'm not a carguy, but seeking others opinions on what the issue may be before taking it to a dealer. Seems like some electrical issue since removing fuse and relay did not to change the situation.

The info MaxSoRytVQ30 gave you is definitely an excellent piece of advice. Do that.
The brake lights and the tail lights are 2 separate, independent things. You need to determine which lights are on. If it were the tail lights, you would also have the parking lights on the front of the car lit up. Since you didn't mention any lights in front, it probably is the brake lights.

Just want to say that my brake/parking lights stayed on last night and had no clue why. Did some searching. Found out there is a rubber stopper that sometimes breaks where the pedal engages. Disconnected my battery overnight to avoid drain. Just went out just now while the sun is out, saw the broken rubber stopper on the mat. Got under there steering wheel. Used this thread to see what I was looking for. https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...ht-switch.html
Grabbed a penny and some tape and boom, brake/parking light off. Thanks again to these threads. #Maxima.org !
